Nissan South Africa is adding fresh excitement to its 2025 line-up with the launch of the New Model Year X-Trail and the Magnite Kuro Black Edition. The double debut comes as the brand celebrates more than 60 years in the country and continues to expand its local SUV range.

This year alone has already seen the arrival of the rugged PRO-4X Warrior, Navara Stealth editions, and the Magnite Move panel van. Now, Nissan is turning its attention to premium SUVs and stylish compact crossovers.

The Magnite Kuro: Bold, Black, and Exclusive

The Magnite Kuro Black Edition brings an all-new look to one of South Africa’s most popular compact SUVs. Based on the N-Connect trim, it swaps out chrome and silver highlights for blacked-out roof rails, skid plates, grille inserts, alloy wheels, and a unique Kuro badge.

The interior keeps the dark theme with a black headliner, gloss-black dashboard details, synthetic-leather seats, and a wireless charging pad.

Under the bonnet, the Kuro runs Nissan’s 1.0-litre turbocharged engine paired with an X-Tronic CVT, delivering smooth power for city driving. Features like a 5-metre turning radius, cruise control, LED headlights, and hill-start assist make it as practical as it is stylish.

Safety comes standard too, with ABS, EBD, and vehicle dynamic control. The broader Magnite range has already earned a 5-star Global NCAP rating for adult occupants — the first local car to do so under the latest protocols.

The New X-Trail: Smarter Tech, Family Strength

The New Model Year X-Trail brings a mix of premium comfort and real-world toughness. New features include a wireless charging pad and approach unlock/walk-away lock system for added convenience.

Powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine producing 135 kW and 244 Nm, and paired with CVT transmission, the X-Trail is built for both urban roads and tougher conditions. With 211 mm of ground clearance and a 2,000 kg towing capacity, it’s a capable companion for South African families.

  • Visia & Acenta: 8-inch touchscreen, five-seat layout, 585ℓ luggage space.

  • Acenta Plus: 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, heads-up display, terrain mode, 19-inch alloys, and an optional seven-seat arrangement.

More Choice for South African Drivers

Between the city-ready Magnite, the family-focused X-Trail, and the tough Navara, Nissan is covering every lifestyle need.

“With the arrival of these models, Nissan is giving South Africans more premium choices than ever before,” says Nissan SA managing director Maciej Klenkiewicz. “We remain focused on delivering cars that are safe, powerful, and exciting for everyday driving.”
