MPUMALANGA – President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Saturday, 30 May 2026, officially launch the centenary commemoration of Kruger National Park at Skukuza Rest Camp in Mpumalanga. The event marks 100 years since the park was formally proclaimed in 1926 and will be celebrated under the theme, “Our Heritage, Our Future.”
The centenary celebrations will reflect on a century of conservation achievements, biodiversity protection, scientific research, tourism growth and heritage preservation. The event will also honour the contributions of rangers, scientists, conservationists and local communities while reaffirming South Africa’s commitment to environmental sustainability, inclusive conservation and the continued development of one of the world’s most renowned protected areas.
