LDV South Africa has officially launched three new models — the Terron 9 SUV, the D90 family SUV, and the Deliver 9 commercial van — at the Festival of Motoring. Prices start from R699,900 for the Terron 9, R799,900 for the D90, and R699,900 for the Deliver 9.

The launch, which followed an exclusive preview earlier this year, included an interactive showcase for guests, complete with displays, entertainment, and activities.

Terron 9: Rugged SUV with Luxury Touches

The Terron 9 is powered by a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine producing 163kW and 520Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. It offers 4×4 capability and a 3,500kg towing capacity.

Inside, the Terron 9 features dual digital displays, leather seats, and seven airbags, along with a 5-star ANCAP safety rating. An electric version will also be available, featuring a closed grille and distinctive C-shaped lights. Trim levels include Elite, Premium, and Flagship.

D90: Family-Oriented SUV

The D90 is a seven-seater SUV designed with families in mind. It comes with heated and ventilated massage seats, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and multiple differential locks.

The model also includes a panoramic sunroof, 20-inch alloy wheels, and an electric tailgate. Technology features range from 360-degree cameras to dual wireless charging pads and a heated steering wheel. It will be available in Elite and Flagship specifications.

Deliver 9: Commercial Workhorse

For the business market, LDV introduced the Deliver 9 van. It provides a cargo volume of 12,330mm³, a payload of 1,580kg, and 236° rear barn doors for easier loading.

Standard technology includes Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a wide-angle reversing camera, and an ANCAP GOLD safety rating.

Industry Response

Bevan Nel, CEO of LDV South Africa, said the launch represented a milestone for the brand:

“From bakkies to SUVs and commercial vehicles, we now offer South African customers a variety of choices that meet both lifestyle and business needs.”

COO Neil Barker added:

“The Terron 9, D90, and Deliver 9 reflect our commitment to bringing exciting vehicles to market. The response has already been very encouraging.”

Media personality Siyasanga Papu, who attended the event, noted:

“The buzz around these new models is incredible. LDV’s arrival brings fresh energy to the motoring space.”

LDV’s expansion into the South African market places it in direct competition with established brands. The company says its new line-up blends performance, safety, and value, positioning it for growth in both the lifestyle and commercial segments.
