JOHANNESBURG – The National Consumer Commission has announced a safety recall of more than 2,200 Toyota Urban Cruiser vehicles due to a manufacturing fault affecting the fuel gauge.
Toyota says the defect may cause the fuel gauge to show more fuel than is actually in the tank, preventing the low-fuel warning light from coming on. The affected vehicles were sold or distributed between 17 January and 3 June 2025.
