US Vice President JD Vance says the United States has left peace talks with Iran in Pakistan without reaching an agreement after 21 hours of negotiations. The failure to secure a deal has put a fragile two-week ceasefire at risk, with Vance warning that the outcome is more harmful to Iran than to the US.

Vance explained that the talks broke down because Iran refused to meet key US demands, particularly committing to never develop nuclear weapons or the capability to build them quickly. He stressed that preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power remains a top priority for the United States, and said Washington had clearly outlined its non-negotiable conditions during the discussions.
