The Community of Tshepiso, Sharpeville had a meeting to discuss ways to keep their environment neat, clean and beautiful, amongst other things. On the agenda was also road maintenance, recreational facilities for youth, stormwater drainage, sewer spillages and electricity issues.

During the meeting, a young man by the name of Makwatsi Moloi (32) voiced concerns over what the youth of Tshepiso face daily. Moloi said that they are not being heard as the young people, whatever they say, is brushed out by the leadership.

He mentioned that there is a shopping complex that was bid by people outside Vaal and also suspects that there is some kind of a deal between SAPS and Emfuleni Local Municipality due to the fact that, every time they go to the municipality, police are called on them.

When speaking to one of the Community leaders, Mr Chippa, said that the meeting went well and the issue raised by Moloi was not on their agenda.

The Community will be meeting again on 13 February 2021, where the cleaning campaign will resume. The ward Councillor, Mr Semonyo, promise to provide PPE’s for the community.
