Rand Water has announced a 30-hour shutdown from tomorrow, Friday the 18th of December 2020 to Saturday, 19 December 2020. The shutdown is to facilitate a decommission and removal of 2.1 km of a failed part of a water pipeline.
According to Rand Water, the pipeline has been in service for 65 years, and is part of the network that supplies their Zwartkopjes Pumping Station.
“The shutdown will allow for the installation of a new cross connection between the B2 and B1 pipelines that will enable supply to be diverted through the B1 pipeline or visa-versa.”
