PRETORIA- President Cyril Ramaphosa has held discussions with Mozambican President Daniel Chapo focusing on immigration challenges affecting the continent, including the growing protests against illegal foreigners in South Africa. Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said the talks highlighted the need to understand both domestic and continental factors driving large-scale migration.
The leaders agreed that issues such as conflict, instability, and misgovernance in some African countries are key drivers pushing people to leave their homes and seek refuge elsewhere, including South Africa. Ramaphosa urged African states to reflect on these root causes and work together to address them as part of a broader continental response to migration pressures.
