VEREENIGING – Gauteng Human Settlements MEC Tasneem Motara led the School Readiness Campaign in the Sedibeng District as schools opened for the 2025 academic year.
The campaign was launched by the Gauteng Provincial Legislature and is aimed at ensuring that schools across the province are fully equipped to receive learners and provide quality education as the new academic year begins.

Motara was flanked by the Sedibeng District mayor Lerato Maloka and Disebo Tlebere, chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, and other government officials.
General Smuts High School in Vereeniging, Thuto-Lore Secondary School, Mohlodi Maritime School of Specialisation, and Setshabelong Day Care Centre in Sharpeville were visited.
