Chelsea reported a pre-tax loss of £262.4 million ($349.49 million) for the 2024-25 season, marking the largest annual loss in English football history. This surpasses the previous record of £194.9 million set by Manchester City in 2010-11. The club’s revenue rose to £490.9 million despite finishing fourth in the Premier League and winning the Europa Conference League.

The previous season, Chelsea had posted a profit of £128.4 million after selling their women’s team to parent company BlueCo, generating total revenue of £468.5 million. The latest loss highlights the financial pressures even top clubs face amid rising costs and competitive performance demands.
