SOWETO – Residents of Dobsonville in Soweto say water tankers have done little to ease their ongoing water shortage, with many households left without running water for six days. On Monday, long queues formed as residents waited to collect water, while some complained that the number of tankers deployed is far too small to meet the growing demand.
Frustrated community members say the prolonged outage has severely disrupted their daily lives and left them struggling to meet basic needs. Residents have also expressed anger over the lack of communication from Joburg Water, saying they have received no clear explanation for the outage or indication of when normal water supply will be restored.
