UPDATE – Rand Water has completed welding repairs on the A21 pipeline, finalising work at 05:00 on 1 June 2026. The refilling and charging of the pipeline has now begun and will be done gradually to prevent leaks or bursts during the restoration process.
Emfuleni Local Municipality says water supply will return in phases, starting with areas closest to the treatment plant such as Bedworth Park and Sharpeville. Higher-lying areas will receive water later in the day, while water tankers will remain in operation until full restoration is achieved. The municipality has thanked residents for their patience during the maintenance period.
