Three suspects were shot and killed following a robbery at a jewellery shop in Highveld Mall, Emalahleni. Eight armed men stormed the store, holding an employee and a security guard at gunpoint before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of jewellery.
Police and private security responded quickly, intercepting the suspects shortly after they left the mall, leading to a shootout. Three suspects were killed, while others escaped. Authorities recovered a vehicle, firearms, including a rifle and ammunition, and some of the stolen jewellery. The weapons will undergo ballistic testing to determine if they are linked to other crimes.
