THEMBISA- The Gauteng Department of Health is accelerating recruitment at Gauteng Department of Health to address critical staffing shortages at Tembisa Hospital. The initiative targets key vacancies, including doctors, nurses, clinical support staff, and administrative workers, with the aim of improving service delivery, reducing long waiting times, and strengthening clinical supervision at the facility.
According to the department, several interviews have already been completed, while others are still in progress, with a number of appointments expected to be finalised in the coming months. Out of 25 medical posts, most have been advertised and shortlisted candidates identified, alongside progress in nursing and clinical support roles. The department also confirmed the delivery and planned procurement of essential medical equipment such as ventilators, monitors, and anaesthetic machines to further boost healthcare capacity at the hospital.
