POLOKWANE – The legal team of Lekompo musician Lehlogonolo Chauke is challenging a decision by the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court to deny him bail for the third time. They argue that the court did not properly consider new information presented during the hearing.
Advocate Michael Khumalo says the magistrate wrongly ended the bail inquiry after deciding there were no new facts, including claims about the musician’s medical condition. He says this prevented a full and fair consideration of whether bail should be granted.
Shebe Maburna faces 20 charges, including attempted murder, malicious damage to property, and illegal possession of a firearm.
