The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court has postponed a ruling on musician Lehlogonolo Chauke’s third bail application to Thursday. The state is opposing his release, while the magistrate, Godfrey Netshiozwi, delayed the decision to allow time to prepare judgment after hearing arguments from both sides.
Chauke, who faces charges including attempted murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm, is seeking bail to receive medical treatment for a leg fracture sustained in a car crash two years ago. His lawyer, Michael Khumalo, argued that a medical scan should be conducted in the presence of both the defence and the state to ensure transparency in the process.
