POLOKWANE – The bail appeal of Lekompo musician Lehlogonolo Chauke, popularly known as Shebe Maburna, has been postponed to 12 June at the Polokwane High Court. The delay was granted to allow the State to submit supplementary heads of argument, after prosecutors told the court that the advocate currently handling the matter was not the one who prepared the original written submissions.

Chauke has been in custody since his arrest in November last year and has already been denied bail on three occasions. He is facing 20 charges, including attempted murder, malicious damage to property and illegal possession of a firearm. The court acknowledged the pressure on both sides to proceed quickly with the appeal but agreed to the postponement to ensure proper preparation.
