Social grant beneficiaries have until 31 August to switch from the SASSA Gold Card to the new Postbank Black Card. More than 1.8 million beneficiaries have already completed the migration, with Postbank urging those who have not yet done so to act before the deadline.
The migration is free, and beneficiaries need a valid or temporary ID and their current Gold Card. Cards can be collected from designated replacement sites and participating retailers, including Shoprite, Checkers, Boxer, Pick n Pay and Spar, and beneficiaries can collect their cards in any province.
