The SACP says it has moved from debating whether to contest the upcoming local government elections to preparing for the ballot.
The party says candidate selection is well advanced, with candidates coming from its ranks, traditional leadership, churches and community organisations. It says criticism from some ANC leaders will not distract it from contesting independently.
