South African Airways (SAA) has defended its appointment of Matshela Seshibe as Acting Group Chief Executive Officer. The airline says allegations linked to his previous role as CEO of Daybreak Farms were investigated and found to be without merit, despite recent negative media reports.
SAA added that it is concerned about repeated unverified claims being circulated against Seshibe, saying they could undermine his leadership. The board confirmed that proper governance and due diligence were followed before his appointment and expressed full confidence in his ability to lead the airline going forward.
