Rand Water has announced major maintenance work scheduled from 29 May to 02 June 2026, with additional maintenance planned for 17 July 2026. The work will affect several municipalities across Gauteng, including Johannesburg, Tshwane and Ekurhuleni. Residents in affected areas may experience low water pressure or temporary water interruptions during the maintenance period.
The maintenance aims to improve the reliability, efficiency and flexibility of Rand Water’s systems at the Vereeniging, Zuikerbosch and Zwartkopjes plants. Authorities have advised residents to use water sparingly and prepare for possible disruptions. Alternative water supply points will also be made available in areas impacted by the maintenance work.
