SECUNDA – President Cyril Ramaphosa officially launched the national rollout of Lenacapavir in Secunda, marking a major step forward in South Africa’s efforts to prevent new HIV infections. The launch highlights the country’s commitment to strengthening HIV prevention through innovative healthcare solutions.

Lenacapavir is a long-acting injectable HIV prevention medication administered only twice a year, offering a convenient alternative to daily prevention methods. The rollout is being implemented through collaboration between government, civil society, the private sector, and development partners, all working toward the goal of ending HIV as a public health threat in South Africa.
