African National Congress President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for an immediate ceasefire in the ongoing conflict involving Israel, the United States, and Iran. Speaking at the 14th Mpumalanga ANC Conference in Mbombela, Ramaphosa highlighted the escalating tensions and warned of the broader economic consequences for South Africa and other developing countries.
He cautioned that the conflict could further increase fuel, food, and transport costs, driving up inflation. Ramaphosa also noted that major crude oil producers, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait, are at risk amid Iran’s aggressive actions, underlining the global economic impact of the war.
