JOHANNESBURG – A close associate of alleged underworld figure Vusumuzi Matlala has been taken in for questioning by the Political Killings Task Team (PKTT). The individual is reportedly being questioned in connection with Matlala’s lease agreement for a property in Waterkloof, Pretoria.
Authorities raided the man’s residence in Pretoria East on Thursday morning. Investigators believe he may have forged bank statements that were allegedly used to help Matlala secure a R95,000-a-month lease agreement. It is further alleged that Matlala applied for the lease using an eSwatini identity document. The investigation is ongoing and more details are expected to emerge.
