Parliament has confirmed that the African Transformation Movement (ATM) has submitted a request to impeach President Cyril Ramaphosa. The motion was formally lodged with National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza, marking a new political development against the president.
The move follows a report by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID), which raised concerns about the conduct of two senior SAPS officers involved in investigating the theft at Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm in Limpopo. The ATM argues that the findings suggest a possible cover-up linked to senior police officials, including Head of Security Major-General Wally Rhoode.
