JOHANNESBURG- Brown Mogotsi’s legal team says they felt “ambushed” by the South African Police Service (SAPS) following his arrest on Friday evening in Vosloorus. His lawyers, from Radasi Sekgatja Inc, said they were not informed in advance that an arrest would take place.
Mogotsi was detained shortly after concluding his testimony before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. He is accused of staging an assassination attempt, with SAPS carrying out the arrest through a multidisciplinary team. His legal representatives say the move came as a surprise and has raised concerns about the timing of the operation.
