Gauteng MEC for Education, Matome Chiloane, expressed shock after a section of a wall at Lerutle Primary School in Daveyton collapsed on Thursday, injuring six learners.
Tragically, a Grade 3 boy later died in hospital. Emergency services treated the other learners, and the Gauteng Department of Education has deployed counselling teams to support the school community. MEC Chiloane said the circumstances of the collapse are under investigation.
