JOHANNESBURG – Gayton McKenzie has urged his supporters not to take part in planned anti-immigration marches amid rising tensions over undocumented migrants. His comments come after clashes between police and Malawian migrants waiting to return home.
McKenzie said citizens should not take the law into their own hands, stressing that many foreigners are trying to leave the country safely. He also accused political actors of inflaming tensions and reiterated that the Patriotic Alliance will not support violence or vigilante action.
