Deputy President Paul Mashatile has wrapped up the 9th Session of the South Africa–China Bi-National Commission in Cape Town, describing the talks as constructive and forward-looking. Held during the visit of Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, the meeting reaffirmed strong bilateral ties and focused on boosting cooperation in trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, and technology.

Mashatile said the outcomes will drive inclusive economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development. He also stressed South Africa’s commitment to ensuring the partnership delivers real benefits, while strengthening collaboration within global platforms like BRICS and the G20.
