JOHANNESBURG- Ekurhuleni city manager, Kagiso Lerutla is expected to return to work on Monday after taking voluntary leave in April following his arrest. Lerutla is facing fraud and corruption charges alongside suspended Julius Mkhwanazi.
The two appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday and the case was postponed to 9 June. Prosecutors allege Lerutla paid Mkhwanazi’s driver R200,000 to impersonate him in court in a 2019 traffic case, while Mkhwanazi allegedly received another R200,000 for arranging the scheme.
