MEXICO – Japan took a commanding 3-0 lead against Tunisia in their Group F match at BBVA Stadium in Monterrey, Mexico. Coach Hajime Moriyasu relied on Daichi Kamada and Junya Ito to fill the attacking void left by injured playmaker Takefusa Kubo, while Takehiro Tomiyasu strengthened the defence.

Japan made a fast start, with Kamada opening the scoring in the fourth minute before Ayase Ueda doubled the lead in the 31st minute. Tunisia, with Aymen Dahmen in goal and midfield led by Hannibal Mejbri and captain Ellyes Skhiri, struggled to contain the Japanese attack as the match progressed.
