EVATON- Residents in Evaton have removed illegal foreign national informal traders operating at Evaton Mall, saying the action was taken to restore trading opportunities for South African vendors. Community members claimed the traders were operating without proper authorization and were limiting access to business space for local traders.
According to residents involved in the operation, street food vendors, hairdressers and other informal traders were cleared from the mall premises. Community members said the move was aimed at ensuring South African traders can fully access and use trading spaces at the mall without obstruction.
