EZIMBOKODWENI – Residents of eZimbokodweni near Adams, KwaZulu-Natal, were shocked after several refuse bags containing human bones were discovered at an informal dumping site on Monday night. The bags had been dumped by a man who believed he was disposing of soil or dirt.
The man, Fikani Vezi, said he was hired at a cemetery in Clairwood and paid R400 to remove about 15 refuse bags. He claims a receptionist told him to dispose of the contents anywhere, as she was unsure where such material was normally taken. Vezi said he only later discovered that the bags contained human bones.
