RUSTERVAAL- The Department of Home Affairs is hosting a Smart ID Card High-Impact Community Programme at Rustervaal Community Hall on Monday, 25 May 2026, from 08:00. The initiative aims to bring Home Affairs services closer to communities, allowing residents to apply for and collect Smart ID cards conveniently.
First-time Smart ID applications are free for citizens aged 16 and older who provide an original unabridged birth certificate. Senior citizens aged 60 and above can also receive a free first-issued Smart ID card. Replacing a lost or damaged ID costs R140, while additional services such as passport applications and certificate reprints will also be available. Cashless payments only will be accepted.
