The Gauteng Department of Health has dismissed claims that mental health care users have already been relocated from the Talisman Foundation, stating that no patients have been moved. The department expressed concern over what it described as misleading statements and confirmed that consultations with families will take place to determine the next steps regarding the situation.

The issue stems from an eviction notice issued to the Talisman Foundation by the property owner, requiring the facility to vacate by 14 May 2026. The department says it is working with the foundation to find a solution and assured the public that if relocation becomes necessary, it will follow a structured, phased, and clinically supervised process in full compliance with legal and healthcare protocols to protect the well-being of patients.
