The Gauteng Department of Education will officially launch the 2027 online admissions process for Grade 1 and Grade 8 learners on Wednesday, 5 August 2026. The event will be led by MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Lebogang Maile, at the Sam Ntuli Sports Centre in Thokoza.
The online admissions system, introduced in 2016, has helped millions of parents secure school placements close to their homes or workplaces. Parents are encouraged to apply online and submit applications on time through the GDE admissions portal.
