The Gauteng Roads and Transport Department has repaired over 470 streetlights across the province as part of an initiative to improve road safety, infrastructure, and crime prevention. City Power Johannesburg teams have been working on various streets in Maraisburg, ensuring streetlights are fully operational for motorists and residents.
Department spokesperson Lesiba Mpya says the next phase will focus on the Fourways area, including Cedar Road, Witkoppen Road, Malibongwe Drive, and Winnie Mandela Drive. The department has also partnered with the City of Tshwane to repair streetlights along provincial roads in the greater Tshwane region, further enhancing safety across Gauteng.
