JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Jacob Mamabolo has praised municipalities for their commitment to implementing the Gauteng Local Government Turnaround Strategy. The strategy aims to improve governance, service delivery, financial management and infrastructure through ten key work streams that monitor progress across all 11 municipalities.

Mamabolo said the strategy will help build Gauteng into a Smart City Region by strengthening accountability, improving municipal performance and enhancing service delivery. Quarterly performance reports will be published to keep the public informed and ensure municipalities remain accountable for their progress.
