A fire broke out in the casualty department at Sebokeng Hospital on Thursday, leading to the evacuation of over 30 patients. The Gauteng Department of Health says the blaze started in a psychiatry holding room, allegedly after a patient set a blanket alight.
No injuries or fatalities were reported, and staff managed to quickly contain the fire. An investigation is underway as hospital management works to ensure continued patient care.
