EVATON-The Gauteng Department of Health has strongly condemned the robbery of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel at the Evaton EMS Station in the early hours of Friday morning. Two armed suspects allegedly forced their way into the station and stole medical equipment, a communication radio, a cellphone, and an ambulance key.

During the incident, a male crew member was assaulted with a firearm and suffered a head injury, while a female crew member was threatened at gunpoint. She managed to escape and activate the ambulance siren, forcing the suspects to flee. Police are investigating the case, and affected staff have received trauma counselling and support from the department.
