JOHANNESBURG – Three senior City of Ekurhuleni officials have been dismissed over allegations of fraud and corruption. Head of Legal Services Kemi Behari and Head of Human Resources Linda Gxasheka were among those fired after being implicated at the Madlanga Commission.
The officials are accused of protecting and failing to take disciplinary action against suspended EMPD deputy chief Julius Mkhwanazi, who allegedly used a fraudulent memorandum of agreement to provide blue lights to Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala. Ekurhuleni Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza is expected to brief the media on the dismissals.
