EKURHULENI – The Democratic Alliance (DA) has laid fraud and corruption charges against former Ekurhuleni City Manager Imogen Mashazi and an alleged associate at the Germiston police station. The case follows allegations that Mashazi benefited from luxury trips worth R3.5 million, reportedly linked to companies that secured municipal tenders.

DA Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate Khathutshelo Rasilingwane said the allegations raise serious concerns about governance, accountability and the integrity of municipal procurement processes. The party is calling for a full criminal investigation into possible violations of procurement regulations and anti-corruption laws.
