The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is in discussions with the Trump administration about accepting deportees from other countries, according to government sources in Kinshasa. This would add to a series of similar agreements across Africa, aimed at managing the flow of migrants.

UN sources and diplomats briefed by US officials say these talks highlight Washington’s increasing use of third-country deportations to accelerate the removal of migrants who entered or stayed in the United States without authorization.
