UPDATE – Former Miss South Africa contestant and Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, will have to wait until 19 August after the Cape Town Regional Court postponed her bid to stop her deportation. She was arrested in Cape Town last month for allegedly being in South Africa illegally.
The Department of Home Affairs argued that Adetshina does not have the required documents to remain in the country and that her detention and deportation are justified. The state also told the court that she still holds a South African passport, which she has allegedly refused to surrender.
