ENGLAND – Chelsea have signed veteran striker Danny Welbeck from Brighton & Hove Albion on a two-year contract. The 35-year-old joins the Blues after an impressive season in which he scored 14 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions for Brighton.
Welbeck said he is honoured to join a club of Chelsea’s stature and is excited about the project under manager Xabi Alonso. He will link up with Chelsea’s squad during their pre-season tour.
