JOHANNESBURG- Members of the Progressive Caucus staged a walkout during President Cyril Ramaphosa’s oral reply session in Parliament on Thursday. The President was answering questions from Members of Parliament when representatives from the uMkhonto Wesizwe Party, Economic Freedom Fighters and African Transformation Movement refused to continue listening to him and walked out in protest.

The parties accused Ramaphosa of breaking the law and called on him to resign. Their protest follows a recent ruling by the Constitutional Court of South Africa on the Phala Phala matter, which overturned Parliament’s earlier rejection of the Section 89 report that found the President may have a case to answer.
