Cabinet has reaffirmed that South Africans have a constitutional right to raise concerns about illegal immigration. However, it has strongly warned that any violence, attacks on foreign nationals, or unlawful behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
It also condemned attempts to exploit socio-economic challenges such as unemployment and limited economic opportunities to incite instability, violence, and tribal divisions. Law enforcement agencies have been instructed to act decisively against anyone found responsible for promoting or engaging in such actions.
