JOHANNESBURG- North West businessman Brown Mogotsi plans to sue the state for malicious prosecution and unlawful arrest following his arrest on Friday after appearing before the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria. Mogotsi is accused of staging an assassination attempt on himself in November last year.
Mogotsi had claimed that gunmen opened fire on his car, leaving him unharmed. However, a witness told eNCA that Mogotsi allegedly shot at his own vehicle. The arrest was carried out by an South African Police Service multidisciplinary team. His lawyer, Adv. Nthabiseng Mohomane, declined to comment on the details of the planned lawsuit.
