Eskom CEO André de Ruyter said the ongoing outages are necessary to catch up with long overdue maintenance.
The instability at Eskom is destroying businesses and the economy, according to the Black Business Council (BBC).
It is calling for the resignation of Eskom CEO Andre De Ruyter and the entire board.
The BBC says De Ruyter has achieved nothing at the utility and has made things worse.
Eskom increased rolling blackouts to Stage 4 Monday, which will run until Friday morning.
