Date: 13 July 2021

Venue: Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium

Bafana Bafana entered the halftime break leading Lesotho 3-0 in their penultimate Group A clash at the COSAFA Cup.

Njabulo Ngcobo and Victor Letsoalo were handed their national debuts while Yusuf Maart was given his first start after coming off the bench in the previous two matches.

Letsoalo made the most of his chance as he broke the deadlock after just four minutes with a neat header from Sifiso Ngobeni to cap his debut with a memorable first goal.

South Africa continued to dominate which eventually resulted in the second goal on 20 minutes when Sphelele Mkhulise was on hand to get his first international goal with a simple tap-in after Nyiko Mobbie’s initial effort was saved by Jessy Matsie.

Lesotho looked to claw themselves back into the contest with 10 minutes left in the first stanza, with Motebang Sera going closest with an effort from the edge of the box that was saved by Bafana goalkeeper Veli Mothwa.

Bafana managed to bag a third goal two minutes before the break when Letsoalo pounced on a defensive error before lobbing the on-rushing to complete his brace.
